The Echuca-Moama Business and Trade Association (EMBTA) has introduced a new initiative to the Echuca-Moama shopping scene in the form of a gift card.
The Echuca-Moama Shop Local gift cards are similar to a typical Myer or Bunnings gift card, purchased in select stores and spent at businesses within the towns.
EMBTA president Daniel Mackrell says they are a way of bringing the communities together.
“We want to work with local businesses and assist in keeping money local,” Mr Mackrell said.
“They also generate more money for the town. They’re a great gift idea for Easter or birthdays.”
The cards can be purchased as $20, $50 or different amounts if they exceed $20.
Local businesses that take part in the initiative are Echuca Furniture Store, Let’s Do Coffee, Mackrells Elite Meats, Linen House, Riverport Florist, Endota Spa, Pork and Pie and Collins Booksellers.
Businesses that will be joining soon are Lords Fashion House, Echuca Lead Light Studio, Echuca Moama Tourism and Bennetts Sports Echuca.
Other successful ventures have been implemented in surrounding towns such as Kyabram and Rochester.
Businesses that would like to take part can visit the EMBTA website at embusinessassociation.org or contact Daniel directly on 0407 775 387.
