Cocktails a climax for fundraiser

By Riverine Herald

DONATIONS are needed for a Mathoura fundraiser supporting the fight against MND.

The Mathoura Car is hoping to raise $10,000 from a cocktail party as part of Daniher’s Drive.

Zowie Crump came up with the idea as she thought it would be nice for people to get dressed up and showcase the new venue in town — The Timbercutter — while raising money and awareness for Fight MND.

‘‘We have had trivia nights, cake stalls and movie nights in the past and have raised around $8000 in total,’’ she said.

‘‘All money raised will be going to Daniher’s Drive.’’

Ms Crump said dinner vouchers, firewood and farming supplies had been donated for a silent auction but the group was seeking more items.

‘‘We are happy with anything people are willing to give. Maybe something for the ladies to purchase,’’ she said.

The party will be held on September 22 from 7pm to 11.30pm at The Timbercutter in Mathoura.

Dress is cocktail/black tie, with finger food available and drinks at bar prices.

Entertainment will be provided by the Matty and Jamie Duo, photography by Rachael Good and the stylist is Mack and Mills.

‘‘We would love for everyone to come along and support this wonderful cause and check out The Timbercutter,’’ Ms Crump said.

Tickets cost $60 each or $75 with a bus transport and are available at www.stickytickets.com.au/72077

Buses will depart from Echuca and Deniliquin at 6.15pm.
