Moama Anglican Grammar students Isabelle Barber and Sophia Fraser won the grades 5-6 and 3-4 categories respectively in Moama Lions Club’s junior public speaking final.

TWO Moama Anglican Grammar students have won Moama Lions Club’s junior public speaking final.

About 50 people attended the competition, held at the Moama Public School hall recently.

Sophia Fraser won the grade 3-4 category, with her fellow Grammar student Montanah Southern coming in second.

Isabelle Barber took out the grade 5-6 category, followed by Moama Public School student Kaitlin Weiser. Moama Lions Club president Bob Hardwick said this had been one of the hardest years to pick winners.

‘‘The judges had their work cut out to make a final decision, as all participants were excellent,’’ he said.

Sophia and Isabelle then went on to represent Moama in the region three final which was staged in Numurkah two weeks ago.

In that final each of the girls was competing against seven other students and they both came runner-up in their divisions.
